Keira Knightley
The actress was born in London to actor Will Knightley and Sharman Macdonald, Knightley obtained an agent aged six. Initially, she was involved in television commercials as well as films. Her role was minor as Sabe in the science fiction film Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999). Her breakthrough came when she played a teen footballer in the film Bend It Like Beckham (2002) in which she was able to attain the world's attention for her performance as Elizabeth Swann in the swashbuckler fantasy series Pirates of the Caribbean, beginning in 2003. In 2003, she starred on the show Love Actually, a romance Love Actually and was called an exciting teenager. Knightley got her first Academy Award nod for Best Actress in 2005 for portraying Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of the romantic historical novel Pride & Prejudice. Knightley was a part of a variety of period dramas as a complex love interest in Atonement (2007) and a tastemaker Georgiana Cavendish in The Duchess (2008), and playing the titular socialite of Anna Karenina (2012). Her work also included modern dramatics. Begin Again, (2013) was a role for her as an aspirant singer, and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, (2014) saw her as a medical school student. Knightley made a return to the world of historical film playing Joan Clarke in The Imitation Game (2014), earning her a nomination to the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, and starred as the eponymous writer in Colette (2018).
